On 12/09/2014 the Busega Development Community organisation (BUDECO) condemned vehemently the rape incident, which occured in Busega district, in Simiyu region on 23/08/2014.
A group of gansters invaded the house of Mr. Samwel Mkumbo at night, where they robbed 18 milion Shilings and later on went on to attack a young teacher in her room within the compound. The teacher was robbed about 50,000 Shillings and raped by the group of men.
While reading the statement of BUDECO during a press conference in Dar es Salaam on 12/09/2014, the chairman of BUDECO, Mr. Ginhu Joseph Masele said, this rape incident must be condemned vehemently by everyone as it will negatively affect the education sector, which is among the main challenges in the district.
This shameful incident was reported by many local news agencies such as Radio 98.10 FM , UHURU, MTANZANIA, MWANANCHI, MSEMA KWELI, na TANZANIA DAIMA.
BUDECO collected a donation of 110,000 shillings, which was handed over to the victim of rape.
